Saint Moritz



Saint Moritz (pop. 5,263), alpine resort town in southeastern Switzerland, Graubünden (Grisons) canton. The original Roman settlement dates from 50 B.C. The town became a resort in the 19th century, and was home to the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympics. Saint Moritz is located in the region where Romansh, an Italic language (of Latin derivation) and one of Switzerland's official languages, is spoken.
