Lloyd Erskine Sandiford

Sandiford, Lloyd Erskine (1937– ), prime minister of Barbados since 1987. Deputy prime minister, minister of education, and leader of the House of Assembly, he assumed the post of prime minister on the death of predecessor Errol W. Barrow. Previously he served as minister of education and community development (1967–75) and minister of health and welfare (1975–86).
