Mack Sennett



Sennett, Mack (1884–1960), Canadian-born U.S. silent movie director-producer, a pioneer of slapstick humor on the screen. After working with D.W.Griffith, he formed his own Keystone Co. and made over 1,000 short subjects (“shorts”) with his Keystone Kops, Bathing Beauties, and stars like Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields, and Gloria Swanson.
