Shrike

Shrike, aggressive and predatory passerine bird of the family Laniidae that kills insects, birds, or small mammals with its hooked bill. Because shrikes store their victims impaled on thorns like the carcasses hung in a butcher's shop, they are often called butcherbirds. They live on the edges of woods and forests worldwide.
