Siberian husky



Siberian husky, arctic working dog bred to pull sleds. The husky stands 20–23 in (51–58 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs 35–60 lb (16–27 kg). It has a dense undercoat and a smooth outercoat, of colors ranging from white through tan and gray to black. Originally raised by the Chukchi tribe of northeastern Siberia, the husky was introduced to Alaska (1909) as a sled-racing dog. It is related to the Samoyed and the malamute.
