Siegfried
Siegfried, or Sigurd, legendary figure of Germanic mythology possessing outstanding strength and courage. He appears in both the Icelandic Edda and the 13th-century German Nibelungenlied, and is the hero of Richard Wagner's “Ring” operas Siegfried and Die Gotterdamerung.
