Sirens

Sirens, in Greek mythology, sea nymphs whose irresistible singing lured sailors to their deaths on rocky coasts. Sirens appear in ancient stories, including Homer's Odyssey, whose hero, Odysseus, had himself tied to a mast and his men's ears plugged as they sailed past the sirens' coast in order to resist.
