Sisal

Sisal, any of various plants of the agave family, genus Agave. Two types of sisal, A. sisalana, found in eastern Africa and Brazil, and A. fourcroydes, found in Mexico, El Salvador, and Cuba, contain long fibers used to manufacture twine and hemp.
