Alfred P. Sloan
Sloan, Alfred P. (1875–1966), U.S. industrialist, president (1923–37) and chairman of the board (1937–56) of General Motors. His Sloan Foundation (1934) finances social and medical research, particularly through the Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research in New York City.
