Sniperscope

Sniperscope, device developed during World War II to enable soldiers to aim rifles accurately at night. The scope emits invisible infrared rays whose reflection off objects the shooter can see by looking through the scope. It had limited effectiveness and has since been replaced by the starlight scope.
