Sodom and Gomorrah

Sodom and Gomorrah, in Old Testament history, cities probably in the southern region of the Dead Sea. According to Genesis, these 2 of the 5 cities on the Jordan plain were destroyed by God for their carnal wickedness. Only Lot and his family were spared, although Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt.
