Solar plexus
Solar plexus, ganglion of nerve cells and fibers situated at the back of the abdomen that subserve the autonomic nervous system function for much of the gastrointestinal tract. A sharp blow on the abdomen over the plexus causes visceral pain and the sensation that all the “wind” has been knocked out of the lungs.
