Susan Sontag
Sontag, Susan (1933– ), U.S. novelist, short-story writer, filmmaker, and essayist. Her best-known books include Against Interpretation (1966), On Photography (1977), Illness as Metaphor (1978) coupled with AIDS and Its Metaphors (1989), and Under the Sign of Saturn (1980).
