Paul Henri Spaak
Spaak, Paul Henri (1899–1972), Belgium's first Socialist premier (1938–39, 1946, 1947–50), and deputy premier (1961–65). He was the first president of the UN General Assembly (1946). He was influential in setting up the European Economic Community and was secretary-general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO; 1957–61).
