Belle Starr
Starr, Belle (1848–89), U.S. outlaw. Legend has it that Starr started her career as a horse and cattle thief called Bandit Queen. She served 9 months in prison (1883) for stealing horses. She was killed by a gunman while her companion, Bill July, was being tried in court.
