Wallace Stevens



Stevens, Wallace (1879–1955), U.S. poet. Working for a Connecticut insurance company, he achieved wide literary recognition with the 1955 Pulitzer Prize for his Collected Poems. Rich in imagery and vocabulary, his verse explores the use of imagination to give meaning to life.
