Stillwater



Stillwater (pop. 12,290), historic city in Minnesota, located on the boundary between Minnesota and Wisconsin and known as the “birthplace of Minnesota.” Founded in 1839, it was one of the earliest settlements in the state and the site of a convention that led to the formation of Minnesota territory. Once a major lumbering center, its chief industries are dairy processing and manufacturing.
