Thomas Stone

Stone, Thomas (1743–87), Maryland lawyer and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Although an advocate of colonial independence, he favored a peaceful settlement to America's conflicts with Britain. He died during his third term in the Maryland Senate.
