Lytton Strachey



Strachey, Lytton (1880–1932), English critic and biographer who belonged to the famed circle of artists and intellectuals known as the Bloomsbury group in London. He revolutionized biographical writing with his imaginative, irreverent, and psychologically astute sketches of famous Victorian figures. He is best known for his biographies Eminent Victorians (1918) and Queen Victoria (1921).
