Strychnine

Strychnine, poisonous alkaloid produced from the seeds of the Strychnos nux vomica tree, which grows in India, Sri Lanka, and Australia. It can cause violant spinal convulsions and asphyxia, which can be fatal if not treated swiftly with barbiturate sedatives.
