Synthesizer

Synthesizer, electronic musical device able to produce and change the timbre, quality, and frequency of sounds generated. First developed in 1955 and increasingly complex since the advent of microprocessors, the instrument has enabled composers and entertainers to create new works using isolated sounds or various sound combinations.
