Sir Étienne-Paschal Taché



Taché, Sir Étienne-Paschal (1795–1865), Canadian politician. During Canada's pre-independence years, he served twice as prime minister (1856–57, 1864), an office held jointly with John A. Macdonald. In 1864 Taché presided over the Quebec Conference, which led to Canada's independence 3 years later.
