Helen Brooke Taussig
Taussig, Helen Brooke (1898–1986), U.S. pediatrician and cardiologist. With Alfred Blalock she developed the “blue baby operation” (1945), which increases blood circulation to the lungs and stimulates research on the surgical correction of congenital heart defects.
