Torpedo

Torpedo, flat, broad fish of the Torpedinidae family, found in tropical and temperate regions of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Also known as the electric ray, it emits electricity to stun fish for food and to protect itself. The shock from the torpedo is not lethal to humans but has been known to stun them.
