Trademark

Trademark, name, symbol, or other device that identifies the product of one company. Strong trademarks, such as Tonka, are words with no apparent meaning which lessen the chance of them being used by another company. Weak trademarks, such as Bubbles, are ordinary words that often communicate the main feature of the product. Trademarks do not need to be registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect them from being duplicated, but such registration makes it easier to sue for infringement if the trademark is copied.
