Trogon

Trogon, bird of the family Trogonidae. Male trogons have dark feathers of green, blue, or violet on their heads and backs and bright feathers of red, orange, or yellow on their undersides. Female trogons are similar but duller in color. Trogons inhabit warm regions in both the Western and Eastern hemispheres.
