Trombone
Trombone, musical instrument, one of the brass wind instruments. It has a slide mechanism to alter the length of the playing tube and increase the note range. Developed from a sackbut, it was first used in a symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1808. There is also a valve trombone, similar to the trumpet.
