Turks and Caicos Islands



Turks and Caicos Islands, two British colonial island groups in the West Indies. They cover 166 sq mi (430 sq km) of land in the southeastern part of the Bahama Islands group. The chief economic activity is the exportation of lobster, hemp, and sponges. Many of the region's inhabitants fish for a living.
