United Parcel Service (UPS), U.S. package delivery company. UPS delivers packages by truck or plane throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and parts of Canada. Air service to Europe is also offered. The small delivery company that eventually became UPS was started in 1907 by James Casey and Claude Ryan to serve the Seattle area.
