Ural River
Ural River, river in former USSR. Originating in the Ural Mountains of west-central Russia, it flows some 1,570 mi (2,527 km) south to the Caspian Sea. Several important Russian cities lie along it, including Magnitogorsk, a steel-making center. It is a rich source of salmon and sturgeon.
