Valley of the Kings

Valley of the Kings, or Valley of the Tombs of Kings, narrow canyon on the west bank of the Nile near Thebes, Egypt. It is the site of over 60 ancient tombs, including the burial places of most of the Pharaohs of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties (1550–1085 B.C.). Among the tombs are those of Tutankhamen, Set I, Thutmose III, Ramses II, Ramses III, and Queen Hatshepsut.
