Sir Anthony Van Dyck

Van Dyck, Sir Anthony (1599–1641), Flemish baroque portrait and religious painter. He was a pupil of Peter Paul Rubens, and his portrait style, influenced by Venetian art, was one of elegantly posed figures and rich but refined color and handling, particularly of materials.
