Kiliaen Van Rensselaer
Van Rensselaer, Kiliaen (1595–1643), Dutch colonizer and leading patroon (landowner). A member of the Dutch West India Company, he established the manor of Rensselaerswyck on the banks of the Hudson River, south of Albany.
