Edgard Varèse
Varèse, Edgard (1883–1965), French-born U.S. composer of non-traditional music and sound techniques. Ionisation (1931), his most famous composition, is written for numerous percussion instruments and two sirens. Other works include Hyperprism (1923), and Density 21.5 (1935). After 1950 Varèse concentrated mainly on electronically produced music.
