Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach (pop. 417,000), resort city on the southeastern edge of Virginia, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Over 2 million tourists visit its warm climate and attractive beaches annually. Many of its residents are employed at 4 nearby military installations. Virginia Beach was incorporated in 1963 and has a council-manager form of government.
