Virgin Islands National Park, national park, authorized in 1956, located on most of St. John (19 sq mi/49 sq km) Virgin Island of the United States, comprising 15,000 acres (6,070 hectares) with interesting marine flora and fauna and remnants of prehistoric Native American civilization.
