Vital Statistics

Vital Statistics, data related to the important events, such as birth, marriage, and death, in a person's life. Registration of many such statistics, including birth dates filed on birth certificates, is required by law. The Vital Statistics Division of the National Center for Health Statistics, a division of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, analyzes and publishes U.S. data.
