Vladivostok

Vladivostok (pop. 643,000), capital of Primorski Kray, in the eastern Russian Federation, chief Pacific naval port of Russia, on Peter the Great Bay near North Korea. Founded in 1860, it has shipbuilding, manufacturing, chemical, and fish-canning industries. It is the east terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway.
