Maurice de Vlaminck
Vlaminck, Maurice de (1876–1958), French artist who, along with André Derain and Henri Matisse, was a leader of the fauvist movement. Vlaminck was strongly influenced by Vincent van Gogh and adopted his slashing brushstrokes and brilliant colors for dramatic effect. He moved gradually to a style close to that of Paul Cezanne. Notable works include The Storm.
