Wallflower

Wallflower, or gillyflower, fragrant flowering plant (Cheiranthus cheiri) of the mustard family. Wallflowers, native to southern Europe and now widely cultivated, are so named for their tendency to grow on walls or on the sides of cliffs. The plants are biennial or perennial, grow to about 28 in (70 cm), and have stalks bearing clusters of maroon or purple flowers. The western wallflower (Erysimum asperum), a perennial, produces golden, orange, or brown flowers.
