Aaron Montgomery Ward

Ward, Aaron Montgomery (1843–1913), U.S. businessperson. In 1872, with capital of $2,400, he and his partner, George Thorne, started the mail-order house that became the vast firm of Montgomery Ward & Co. Annual sales had risen to $40 million at the time of his death.
