Pop Warner



Warner, Pop (Glenn Scobey Warner; 1871–1954), U.S. football coach. He coached at Georgia (1895–96), Cornell (1897–98), Carlisle (1899–1903), Cornell (1904–06), Carlisle (1907–14), Univ. of Pittsburgh (1915–23), Stanford (1924–32), and Temple (1933–38), winning 313 games (third winningest coach in Division I-A). Warner pioneered both the single- and double-wing formation and led Standford to a Rose Bowl victory (1928).
