Wart

Wart, scaly excrescence on the skin caused by a virus. Warts may arise without warning and disappear equally suddenly. Numerous remedies have been suggested, but local freezing or cauterization are often effective. Warts that grow on the soles of the feet, pushed inward by the weight of the body, are called verrucas.
