Ida Bell Wells-Barnett
Wells-Barnett, Ida Bell (1862–1931), African-American reformer and journalist known for her anti-lynching efforts in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In 1909 she helped establish the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She also participated in the campaign aimed at giving women the right to vote.
