Mae West
West, Mae (1892–1980), U.S. stage and screen actress. This sultry mistress of provocative innuendo and sex symbol of Hollywood films of the 1930s was frequently at odds with the censors. She immortalized the phrase “come up 'n' see me sometime,” and starred in such movies as She Done Him Wrong (1933), I'm No Angel (1933), and My Little Chickadee (1940).
