Earle Gilmore Wheeler



Wheeler, Earle Gilmore (1908–75), U.S. Army general. He served in Europe in World War II and in 1962 was appointed army chief of staff by Pres. Lyndon B. Johnson. He was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1964–70).
