Stanford White



White, Stanford (1853–1906), U.S. architect and painter in the firm of McKim, Mead & White, a renowned architectural firm. His designs include the Washington Arch (1889–95), the Judson Memorial Church (1891), the campus of Bronx Community College (1892–1901), and the Tiffany Building (1906). Born in New York City, White was shot to death by Harry Thaw, the jealous husband of his lover, Evelyn Nesbit.
