Wyoming Valley



Wyoming Valley, valley in northeastern Pennsylvania and scene of a bloody battle during the Revolutionary War. The valley, which is rich with hard coal, is about 20 mi (32 km) long and 3 mi (5 km) wide. On July 3,1778,200 British loyalists together with 600 Native Americans raided the valley and killed almost 200 settlers.
