Yellow-dog contract

Yellow-dog contract, pledge signed by prospective employees that they will not join a union. U.S. Supreme Court decisions (1908, 1915) upheld their legality, and they were widely used by antiunion employers in the 1920s. The Norris-La Guardia Act (1932) finally outlawed them.
