Whitney Moore Young Jr.
Young, Whitney Moore, Jr. (1921–71), U.S. civil rights leader. As director of the National Urban League (1961–71), he worked for better job and housing conditions for blacks in the United States and was one of the most influential black leaders of the 1960s.
